Poliana is a new non profit  art and culture organization founded by artists living on the island of Lesvos. Poliana uses its talents  to promote and encourage creative expression by offering  various culture menus. Through artisitic  activities we aim to stimulate, develop and expand  cultural awareness  as well as integrating the importance of environment preservation. Poliana’s "mission" is to teach the art of creativity, while incorporating the local heritage, in an original and fun way.

Our name POLIANA comes from our Greek name POLITISTIKI ANAZITISI meaning, literally, cultural exploring. A play on these words brought us to the concept of POLLYANNA, the main character from the well-known novel by E.Porter. Pollyanna’s way to knowledge is through play and amusement, her excessive optimism and joy radiating her zest for life to the world around her. Realizing that this was actually our ultimate mission, the name POLIANA appeared the obvious choice for us.
